Kelly Davis

Kelly Lee Davis, age 67 of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at his home in Atlantic. Kelly was born in Creston, Iowa on September 22, 1954, to Ronald and Mary (Cleeland) Davis. He attended Lincoln and Jackson Elementary Schools and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1972. He then went on to Westmar College and later the University of Northern Iowa where he graduated in 1976.

Sports was a big part of his life as he lettered in football, wrestling, and baseball in high school and played football and wrestled in college. He coached Little League softball and Little Trojan wrestling for several years and played golf and slow pitch softball. He officiated several sports for girls and boys for over 35 years.

Kelly worked for SWITA for 28 ½ years a Transit Director and retired in June of 2021.

He was preceded in death by, his parents, grandparents, Robert and Alberta Cleeland and Glen and Carrie Davis. Kelly is survived by, his brother, Dennis (Sherry) Davis of Atlantic, sisters, Vicki (Bob) Levy of Des Moines, Iowa, and Kristi (Roger Simpson) Arnold of Wathena, Kansas; nephews and nieces, Jaime (Allan Smith) Davis of Ankeny, Iowa, Rory (Camilla Romero) Arnold of Liberal, Kansas, Trevor (Rachel) Arnold of Delhi, Iowa, Kelli (Matt) Mostrom of Clear Lake, Iowa; great nephews and nieces, Trevor Davis Smith, Sadey, Camden, and Mace Arnold; Liza, Vada, and Theo Mostrom; and aunts and uncles.

A time of remembrance for Kelly will be held from 3 pm until 5 pm, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Nishna Hills Golf Club in Atlantic, Iowa. Please come to celebrate Kelly’s life with his family that time. A private family burial will take place at a later date in the Atlantic Cemetery.
